Terms for makers

gosponsored is operated by Placeholder Legal Entity SRL. It gives you a public page at gosponsored.com/your-username, sponsor slots you can embed with one script, checkout through Stripe for monthly sponsorships, one-time packages and one-time offers (a post, a mention, a newsletter ad and the like), and a dashboard with the numbers.

We may change or improve the service. If a change takes away something you rely on, we tell you by email at least 30 days before, unless the law or a security problem requires it sooner.

You sign in with X or with an email link, and you keep your sign-in secure. One person or company per account. The information on your page (name, bio, links, properties) must be accurate and yours to publish.

Usernames follow our rules: reserved words can't be taken, and we can reassign a username that impersonates someone else or a brand.

A published page is shown by default in the showcase on the gosponsored homepage and in Browse (gosponsored.com/browse and its category pages), with its name, avatar, properties, open slots and prices. You can turn this off at any time on the Page screen under Visibility; unpublished pages are never shown.

Stats marked as verified come from the source named on the card: a source you connect (Plausible, Google Analytics, DataFast, PostHog, Stripe, Polar, YouTube or GitHub), X, or our own widget counts. Self-reported numbers are labeled as such, and a Discord member count read from an invite link is labeled "via invite link" and never verified. Don't inflate traffic, views, clicks, revenue or followers, and don't send bots to your slots. We filter bots, and we may remove stats, pause slots or unpublish a page when numbers look manipulated.

Connect only accounts, channels and repositories that are yours or that you're allowed to use. When a source asks you to add your gosponsored link (YouTube, GitHub) to prove it's yours, it has to stay true while you use it: we may remove a number that turns out not to be yours. A TrustMRR badge you add shows TrustMRR's numbers, not ours.

You set the price, the seats or quantity and the approval rule of each slot and offer. Sponsors pay through Stripe Checkout on your own connected Stripe account, so you are the seller and the merchant of record for every booking; gosponsored is not a party to the sale. Stripe's terms apply to your Stripe account.

You are responsible for the taxes on your sales, for invoices where your law requires them, and for your Stripe account being in good standing. Stripe sends the sponsor's receipts.

We charge a platform fee of 10% of each charge, collected by Stripe as an application fee. The fee in effect when a sponsor books is stored on that booking. When a charge is refunded, the fee is refunded in the same proportion. Stripe's own processing fees are charged to your Stripe account by Stripe.

New sponsors wait for your approval unless the slot approves them automatically. Every ad is screened first; one that may break the content policy always waits for you, even on auto-approve.

Approve or decline within 72 hours. A declined booking, or one you don't answer in time, is refunded in full, including our fee, and the subscription is canceled.

A live sponsor can edit their ad. The edit is screened like a new booking and waits for your approval, except when your slot approves automatically and the ad still links to the same site; then it goes live at once and we email you. The approved ad keeps running until you approve an edit; an edit you don't decide within 72 hours expires.

Keep the widget where you described the placement for as long as the booking is active. Every ad shows a "Sponsored" label that you can't hide or remove. Don't change an ad's text, link or logo, and don't click your own ads or ask others to.

If your slot stops loading, we email you. Sponsors see the counts we measure, not self-reported ones.

You can remove a sponsor at any time with a reason. The subscription is canceled at once and the sponsor is refunded the unused part of the month (price × remaining time ÷ period length), with our fee refunded in proportion. Pausing a slot with active sponsors refunds them the same way.

When a renewal fails, Stripe retries according to your Stripe settings. The ad is hidden after 3 days unpaid and the subscription is canceled after 14 days. Card disputes are handled in your Stripe account, as the seller.

An offer is a one-time sale of something you deliver yourself, such as a post on X, a newsletter ad or a video mention. The sponsor pays once, by card. You accept or decline each order within 72 hours; an order you decline, or don't answer in time, is refunded in full.

Once you accept an order, deliver it by the deadline shown on it (the delivery time you set on the offer, counted from acceptance) and mark it delivered with proof: a link to the post on the channel's site, and optionally a screenshot and a note. An order without proof by the deadline is refunded in full automatically. You can also refund an accepted order yourself before you deliver it.

Refunds of a one-time payment are paid from your Stripe balance. Our fee is refunded with it, in the same proportion, but Stripe's processing fee is not returned to you on a refund.

After you deliver, the sponsor can report a problem within 7 days, or within the offer's "stays up" period if that is longer. A reported order waits for gosponsored to decide: we may refund the sponsor in full or in part, or reject the report. Otherwise the order is complete when that window ends.

Pausing an offer stops new orders; orders already paid must still be delivered or refunded. The quantity you set counts sold orders until one is refunded, declined or expires.

A package sells a widget seat for a fixed number of days, paid once. It doesn't renew and ends by itself on its last day. Removing a package's sponsor, or pausing its slot, refunds the unused days as in section 8.

The content policy applies to every ad. We may take down an ad that breaks it; the sponsor is then refunded as in section 8. We may suspend a page or account that breaks these terms, after telling you why unless the law or a safety problem prevents it.

You can close your account at any time. Your active bookings are then canceled and refunded as in section 8. Records we must keep for tax and accounting are kept for as long as the law requires.

We provide the service as it is and work to keep it running, but we don't guarantee that it is uninterrupted or that any slot will sell. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the fees we earned from your bookings in the 12 months before the claim.

These terms are governed by the law of Romania (placeholder). We will tell you by email about material changes at least 30 days before they apply; if you don't agree, you can close your account before then.
